In what sometimes seems like chaos, God has a perfect order, but not everyone can see that.

As I sit here looking out over the beautiful scenery that God created and how it all fits together so perfect.  I can look into my own life and see God’s hand at work, and my trust is strengthened.  In what sometimes seems like chaos, God has a perfect order, but not everyone can see that.

Some people just can’t accept the concept of the existence of God. They see no particular order in the universe that would demand the existence of a grand Designer behind it all. They can find other explanations to satisfy them about the origins of life on earth.  Some know that there is a Creator, but only as someone to acknowledge from a distance. They see his divine order and the power of his hands, but they don’t have any personal connection with “him/her/it/whatever.”  Then there are those who come to know about the one true God by hearing the Gospel message.  They’ve heard that Jesus died on the cross for their sins and rose again offering them new life, and if you believe you will be saved.  Then you will never be alone God will come to live in your heart.  But then life happens and they still feel alone and disconnected from God.

As believers in Christ, we must keep in step with the Spirit "Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit." Galatians 5:25.  Life can change in the blink of an eye. Our lives can go from contentment and happiness one day to complete pain and despair the next. Yet though tragedy and heartbreak, we can still walk with God, God is with us and will sustain us through any situation.  Does this mean nothing will befall us during our time this side of heaven? No, but it does mean that as we go through life on earth, we are helped, comforted, and strengthened by the Spirit through our situations. If you feel God is not with you, will you take a step towards Him? Do you believe and trust Him?  This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord.”--- “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.” Jeremiah 17:5,7

Sometime we believe and still don’t trust.  Trusting means living with the faith that everything is going to be okay, you say no that optimism. In a way optimists see a good outcome in every situation, as Christians we should too.  We have the word of God which tells us how this is all going to end.  If we believe His word to be true, then we need only to trust it.  Trusting means that you know a powerful and competent God who is in full control.  He will catch you when you fall and He will emerge victorious no matter what happens in your life.

This is my Prayer: God help me to see Your perfect order in what may seem like chaos in my life.  Holy Spirit I hear Your voice and feel Your tug at my heart, guiding and directing me.  God give me the strength and power each day to stay in step with You.  Lord teach me to not only to believe Your word to be true, but to trust it.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Repentance is not saying I'm sorry, it is saying I'm done!

What in your life seems impossible today?  Who do you FIRST turn to when times are difficult or seem impossible? Do you believe you can handle everything and try to do it on your own? Do you feel you have you progressed beyond God’s help? Don’t end up with God as a last resort--start with God as a first resort! We can do nothing without Jesus, the quicker we learn that the better. We need to get over ourselves, look away from ourselves and look up. We need to quit asking what can God do for me, realize the great things that God has already done for us.

God is our protector, the only one that makes impossible things possible here on earth. There are situations where it is difficult to fathom God's love for us in these times of loss, separation, or despair; God’s love for us will not be shaken. "Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken." Psalm 62:5-6

When we come to Christ through acceptance of the revelation that He is the one and only Son of God and all salvation is through Him, repentance should follow. Repentance is not saying I'm sorry, it is saying I'm done! I'm done with seeking help from the world, trying to do things on my own, and now I am focused on Christ.  “Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.” Matthew 3:8 It is then that God can meet all our needs and make the impossible, possible. "Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:3-4

This is my Prayer:  God I know only you can make the impossible possible in my life.  Lord show me the things of this world that I need to leave behind, so that I can be closer to You.  Jesus I am done seeking help from the world and trying to do things on my own.   Help me to focus on You.  In Jesus name, Amen.

God I need light in the darkness of my life!

Can you imagine pure light where there is not one speck of darkness?  As humans we see and experience so much darkness throughout our lives.  It is difficult, and at times, almost impossible to see God's glory and God's perfect plan when we are suffering or struggling to any light in the circumstance we find ourselves in.   Some circumstances are not ours to understand. We must believe that no matter what your circumstances are, God is truly with you and never leaves our side.

In our darkest hours, God is with us, holding us with His arms so that we do not fall "The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Deuteronomy 33:27 Even though you may not see Him in the moment He is there.  He promises us the pain won’t last forever. "Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end." Isaiah 60:20.  The scriptures promise you that no matter what the circumstance are He will be with you.  “I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 8:38-39

In times of darkness we must allow His pure light to shine in our lives. Is He waiting for you to take the first step?  "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34 Can you take steps of faith today and follow were His light is shining through the darkness?

This is my Prayer:  God I need light in the darkness of my life. Lord I believe You are only one who can give it.  Jesus I give You full control over my life.  Holy Spirit give me direction and guidance for my life. Lord give me the strength, faith, and comfort in knowing that nothing I ever do, Satan ever does, or anything anyone else ever does can separate me from Your love and Your hand.    Jesus remove all worry of today and tomorrow and in its place give me the knowledge that in any situation You are in control and will always be.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Guardrails protect us from danger.

Years back I was driving to work after an Ice storm.  The rode was covered with ice, all except for 2 grooves where everyone was driving.  I had to cross several bridges on the way to work.  At one on the last bridges a car behind me decided to pass me.  As they went around me it pulled me out of the groove and sent me sliding. Luckily, there was a guardrail there to protect me from the ice water that lay on the other side.

Guardrails protect us from danger. These boundaries are there to keep us from heading to places we don’t want to go. They alert us to danger on the other side. But, here’s the thing. Boundaries aren’t only necessary in our everyday experiences.  They are critical in our spiritual life where we are to pursue integrity and reflect God’s character.  “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.  Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.  Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.” Ephesians 5:15-17

Boundaries are important no matter who you are or what you struggling with. The problem is our tendency is to push the limit and get as close to the line as possible. From our limited perspective, boundaries appear restrictive.  Nothing about them appears freeing. We want to live our lives without restriction.  Rather than restricting our life, boundaries free us to live a life without worry.  Setting boundaries is a way of preserving yourself for God’s plans for your life.  “Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.  Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. “ Ephesians 5:10-11

What guardrails do you need to setup?  Most likely you already know where you need to plant a guardrail.  No one has ever said they’ve regretted setting up boundaries, but there are numerous people who can tell you story after story about the chaos that was caused due to the lack of guardrails in their lives.

This is my Prayer: God, open my eyes to the places in my life where I need to plant guardrails.  Lord help me to avoid the danger on the other side by creating these boundaries in my life. Holy spirit teach me to follow Your guidance and direction.  Jesus give me strength to see the boundaries as freedom and not restriction.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Hopeless or not God is there!

Do you believe God exists in what you may consider a "hopeless" situation? Hopeless is a strong word isn’t it?  “Hopeless” takes away our strength, fills us with fear and doubt. God tells us to "Be strong. Take courage. Don't be intimidated. Don't give them a second thought because God, your God, is striding ahead of you. He's right there with you. He won't let you down; he won't leave you." Deuteronomy 31:6

So what can brings us out of these “hopeless” situations? We must be constant with God because he is constant with us. As we seek and listen, the doors are opened and our path is made straight, hope then follows. Remember 2 Corinthians 4:17 "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."   If God is truly in you; don't worry about tomorrow for He is right alongside you today, and He is not going anywhere. God wants us to rely on him alone, seek His hope, and allow Him to anchor us.

So how do we stay constant with God? We talk to Him. You’ve heard stories about how shipwreck survivors, marooned on a desert island, put desperate messages into bottles and threw them back out into the surf. Talk about long shots! For all they knew, those messages were never going to connect with anybody. Lot of people view prayer in the same way. “Nobody’s listening and nobody’s coming to help” overtake their thoughts and they feel hopeless.  The God who created us and redeemed us is also interested in helping us. Here is his promise: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” (1 John 5:14).

God hears every attempt we make to communicate with Him whether it’s praying, singing, whispering, shouting, or even thinking. I love the story of Abraham’s Servant Finds a Wife for Isaac.  In Genesis 24 Abraham servant promised he would bring back a wife for Isaac.  In verse 12 “Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.” Then in verse 15 “Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder.”  Did you catch that?  “Before he had finished praying”, God answered before he even finish praying for it.  God knows what’s on your mind. He is not only listening He is already working on it. How secure is your anchor with God?  Do you stay constant with him, believing he is constant with you? How about talking with Him right now?

This is my Prayer: God please be my anchor. Holy Spirit guide me into the hope I can have in You.  God give me confidence in You and the faith to walk in that confidence. Lord I know You are in control, will protect, and guide me.  Jesus you know my thoughts and hear my prayers.  Thank You for already answering them.  In Jesus name, Amen.
