  • Let GO and Let GOD : Current Sermon Series

I’m a control freak. There, I said it. I don’t like to leave things up in the air. I get anxious about things. I’m not big on things “looming.” I want things to have happened, although Happening is acceptable, but about to happen drives me crazy.  I tend to take the perspective: God let’s get to it! What are You waiting for? So, if I’m being honest, I’m not a huge fan of the bumper sticker that reads, “Let go and let God.”

I understand the heart of the message, let go and let God do what only He can. That sounds awesome! Sadly, though, it sometimes sounds impossible to a guy like me. Maybe you can relate. If you have a hard time “letting go and letting God,” here’s my encouragement to you, we never really had control, and God always has.

That this understanding permeates our minds, it will then begin affect our behavior. We learn to be obedient to God, and trust a loving God who has promised to take care of us. This in turn will change our relationship with Him and everyone else. So just us in this journey, as we, “Let GO and Let GOD!”
